I keep wanting to say the ‘hardest part about Cancer is’, but there’s so many hardest parts of Cancer. The one I want to touch on today is discovery of said disease. It’s not a roller coaster. It’s a thunderclap. It’s a shock to the cellular system. It’s so immediate faster than a blink of an eye. Maybe it’s preparing you for seeing your life before your eyes. In a blink. All the horrors. all the should’ves. all the if onlys. if everything, in a blink, a horrible blink.
The shock fades, but never really goes away. As you begin the fight. And it is a fight. It’s a fight against the odds against the statistics. But there you go. Here we are. Fighting. Raising funds gathering armies. Receiving your support, and using it,
to heal.
