My Story
I ride for two friends—one who we lost to cancer at just 8 years old, and one who fought hard and won. Their stories are why this cause matters so much to me.
The truth is, cancer is the #1 killer of children by disease in the U.S. Every year 15,700 kids are diagnosed, and 38 children die every week. That’s 38 families forever changed—and it’s 38 too many.
I’m riding in the Great Cycle Challenge to raise funds for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund—fueling research, better treatments, and hope for a cure.

I usually ride... today I walked.
3 Sep 2025Ride 1 of the Great Cycle Challenge:
I set out to ride 50 miles, but at mile 22… flat tire. 🚴♂️💨 No problem—I had tools and a spare. Except my wrench was useless, so the last 2+ miles turned into a walk back to my car. And since cycling cleats aren’t the best walking shoes, the trek was barefoot. 🦶😂 Not quite the epic start I had in mind.
But here’s the thing: tires can be replaced. Kids fighting cancer don’t get that option. 💛 That’s why I’m riding all September—to raise funds for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund and give kids a fighting chance.

2 Sep 2025I hope everyone had a great Labor Day! I spent mine floating down the river in a canoe 🚣♂️ (no wipeouts, so I’ll call that a win). But tomorrow, it’s back to reality—and by “reality,” I mean pedaling my legs off all September for the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids’ cancer. 🚴♂️💛
The Challenge kicked off today, and I’m honored to ride for the Children’s Cancer Research Fund—because kids deserve playgrounds, not hospital rooms.
Here’s the deal: I do the sweating, you do the cheering 🙌 … and if you can, toss in a donation to keep me fueled (and the kids supported). Every dollar makes a difference—together we can turn miles into smiles. 😅➡️😊
