Brenda Macias: A Breast Cancer Survivor* Brenda Macias is a Stage IV Breast Cancer survivor that lives everyday not as if it was the last but as if it was the first day of her life! She calls herself a THRIVER to remind herself that everyday is a challenge but also a gift. She relates to those young children that are also battling this illness and knows that with the support of their loved ones, their medical team and the community, they can walk through this journey feeling loved and empowered. As a Journalist, Brenda uses her story to inspire others to live life with gratitude and intention no matter what comes their way. And that everyone’s personal story is full of hope, resilience, and human spirit. Brenda Macías: Una Sobreviviente de Cáncer de Mama* Brenda Macías es una sobreviviente de cáncer de mama en estadio IV que vive cada día como si fuera el primero, no el último. Se define como una persona que prospera para recordarse que cada día es un reto, pero también un regalo. Se identifica con los niños pequeños que también luchan contra esta enfermedad y sabe que, con el apoyo de sus seres queridos, su equipo médico y la comunidad, pueden transitar este camino sintiéndose amados y empoderados. Como periodista, Brenda usa su historia para inspirar a otros a vivir la vida con gratitud y propósito, pase lo que pase. This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
