I'm Riding For

I'm riding for everyone and their families who are fighting cancer.

Every ride will be done especially for a 4-year-old boy named Maverick who lives in NC. He has a tumor in his lung that has reduced in size after his first round of chemo. Round two has recently begun. His parent are praying that his tumor will shrink enough that it can be surgically removed in the near future. Please join them in praying for Maverick.

My Story

31 Aug 2025

This will be my fourth year, so apparently, it's become a tradition to take part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer during the month of September! This year, as I ride in memory of my sisters Peggy, Lynn, and Sue, and my father-in-law Dick who was an avid biker into his 90s, I am also riding for a 4-year-old boy named Maverick who is battling cancer and improving!

I am riding and raising funds because I have witnessed what cancer and treatments do to a person's body and the stresses it places on the whole family. At a minimum, it steals portions of people' lives. Kids should be playing, going to school, and fighting with their siblings not going to doctor appointments and hospitals for treatments, and fighting for their lives.

The funds raised will allow researchers working for the Children's Cancer Research Fund to continue their work developing lifesaving treatments and working to find a cure for childhood cancers.

For this month of riding to be a success, I need you to support this effort by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
