I'm Riding For
George Lopez

My father enjoyed swimming, cycling, and soccer, among other sports. He was a Mexican cyclist who won first and second placed in cycling competitions. My father was not only a great athlete, but also a great father and wonderful person with a lovely heart who was always willing to help others. He was the oldest of twelve siblings and always watched over his mother, siblings, and family with much love. He was an optimistic individual who never gave up on his aspirations and remained positive in difficult moments. No matter how difficult his goals would be he worked hard to achieve them. His determination inspired others around him, and he often encouraged me to pursue my own passions with the same fervor. Through his example, I learned many values of life and the value of perseverance, consistency , working with love, determination, and the importance of supporting others in their journeys. He will always live in our hearts and his kind heart and good humor will not be forgotten.
My Story
This September, I will be participating for the first time in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
