I'm Riding For
Sandra Williams

Sandra Williams was a trusted advisor in the Banking and Financial Advisory practice at my firm (ISG), and we worked together on several large consulting engagements. I recommended her as a mentor to members of my leadership team because I saw her as someone with a great deal of wisdom and experience that others could glean from. She was a hard working individual who didn’t want anyone to worry about her. It was a shock when she passed from cancer. She will be missed by many colleagues, customers, friends and family. When the Great Cycling Challenge came up, I felt it a great opportunity to honor Sandra’s name and memory and make a difference in the fight for cancer.
My Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer in memory of my coworker Sandra Williams who lost her battle with cancer this year! Also, my family has lost several loved ones to cancer over the past years, so I am doing what I can to help the cause.
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you,
Doug Teachey

Day 1 in the books
3 Sep 2025For Labor Day, I planned to ride 50 miles, but around my turnaround point at mile 25, I felt good to go, so I went all the way past 30 miles from home before turning around for a little over 61 miles in total. I love the Silver Comet Trail and how it providers a safer place for pedestrians and cyclists to enjoy a little fitness. There were a few close calls on the trail, but it was a great start to knocking out the miles. Just 138.2 to go!
