I'm Riding For

💛 For the Fighters—young and old, past and present

I've been riding in the Great Cycle Challenge for years now. I started as a way to help kids battling cancer, to motivate myself to stay active, and to honor the memory of my uncle—who was bigger than life and taken far too soon. This year, my ride carries even more weight. My sister was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 throat cancer. Watching someone I love face such a brutal illness has shaken me deeply. I can’t imagine what it must be like for a child to go through this. My heart aches for every young life interrupted by cancer—for every family holding on through fear and hope. I’m also healing myself. After a long stretch of illness and a recent surgery that finally gave me the oxygen I’ve been missing, I’m slowly regaining strength. I’m not where I was last year, when I rode nearly 400 miles before an accident cut things short. But I’m here. I’m riding. And I’m doing what I can, the best I can. This year, my goal is 100 miles. It may be shorter, but it’s no less meaningful. Every mile is a prayer. Every ride is a tribute. Every effort is for the kids, for my sister, for my uncle, and for anyone who needs a reminder that healing is possible and hope is real. I ride for love. I ride for life. I ride for them.

🚴‍♀️ Great Cycle Challenge 2025 - Kri’s Ride to Fight Kids’ Cancer

This September, I’m riding in the Great Cycle Challenge to help fight childhood cancer. My personal goal: 100 miles.

Last year, I rode nearly 400 miles before an accident cut things short. This year, I’m healing from surgery and finally breathing better—but I’m still rebuilding strength. So I’m doing what I can, the best I can, and trusting that it’s enough.

I hope my ride inspires others to:

Support life-saving research for kids

Get outside—ride, walk, run, move

Find joy and healing in nature

Being outdoors has always helped my emotional health, and I’d love to inspire that same healing in anyone who reads this.

Let’s ride for the kids. Let’s ride for hope. 💛

My Challenge

  • Breathing Easier, Riding Forward 💛
    23 Aug 2025

I’m barely a couple of weeks out from surgery and finally breathing better—what a difference! I’m still rebuilding strength, but every mile I ride feels like a victory. My goal is 100 miles this year, and while that’s less than last year, it’s no less meaningful. I ride for my sister, my uncle, and every child fighting cancer. Thank you for cheering me on. Your support helps me keep going, one breath, one mile, one prayer at a time.
