So it begins!
2 Sep 2025This is our 6th September together raising money for the Children's Cancer Research Fund, and I am convinced there is no better way to spend a September than this!
Thank you so much to Scott Jonker and his family for kicking us off with a big donation before the month even began, and thank you in advance for everyone's support financially, physically , and emotionally. I could not do this the past 6 yrs without my wonderful husband Nik's support. Whether it is dealing with my ridiculous schedule, making me food, fixing my bike when I am impatient and making it worse, or picking me up when I get a flat tire in the dark and don't want to fix it...he is always there with a smile and a water, telling me everything is fine!
This year is extra special/emotional for me because I will be riding with someone in mind. My uncle Dave is currently battling stage 3 cancer and I will be thinking of him during every single mile. Watching anyone go through the emotional pain of a cancer diagnosis and then the physical pain of the battle is a lifetime of encouragement that we all need to do our part to gain as much knowledge, resources, and treatments to battle cancers. We start with raising funds and helping children because of their innocence and life unfulfilled, but these advancements help every single one of us. One in three people will have to deal with a form of cancer in their lifetime which means cancer impacts every single one of our families.
Thank you all for coming out here to this page, learning about the Great Cycle Challenge, donating, and supporting. Every win and every success you see here is a shared one. I am just here to facilitate the conversations, the edification, and the funds for CCRF. We are all a part of this mission.
